KHQS sponsors a Fall Retreat each year. Since we are finally able to gather in person, dust off your sewing machines, find a couple of projects and join us this Fall!

When: Thursday – Sunday, October 28-31, 2021. Come and work on your own projects with plenty of time for sewing and the companionship of fellow quilters. It’s a great time to make new friends and catch up with old ones. The retreat will begin on Thursday afternoon and concludes on Sunday after lunch.
Retreat Registration: Please register and pay online at www.khqs.org. Log in as a member and select Activities or the Event Calendar on the menu on the left side of the page.
Retreat Cost: $16.00. In the event this this retreat is cancelled due to events beyond the control of KHQS (e.g., Covid-19), your retreat fee will be refunded or credited to your account. Registrants are requested to follow any COVID-19 protocol in place during the time of the retreat.
Lodging: KHQS reserved a block of rooms at Blue Licks. Each participant is responsible for booking and paying for your own lodging. The rates are as follows:
- Lodge Rooms with 2 Doubles$71.96 Wed. & Th; $80.96 Fri. & Sat. (+ taxes)
- 2 Bedroom Exec. Cottage $134.96 Wed. & Th.; $143.96 Fri. & Sat. (+ taxes)
The cost, of course, will be divided by the number of roommates with whom you choose to share. Book your rooms by calling the hotel at (859) 289-5507 and identify yourself as a member of KHQS. Our Group Code is 3549. The deadline to reserve a room is September 30, 2021. All reservations must be secured by credit card.
Room Cancellation: If you must cancel your room reservation, it must be done at least 48 hours prior to the start of the retreat in order to receive a refund from Blue Licks.
All who are in public areas at Blue Licks are required to wear masks. We may go without a mask in our workroom so long as we are socially distanced. Our workstations will be set up with this in mind. Each station will have two tables with two feet of space between them in order for us to be properly distanced.
The dining room will be closed for dining in and the menu will be somewhat reduced from the normal offerings. They do offer sandwiches and salads and have been preparing specials (soup and salad or sandwiches) some evenings. Menus will be available at the desk when you check in.
There are restaurants in Carlisle, about 8 miles away from the park. A list of those will be available in our workroom.
We are taking every precaution to make everything safe. We want everyone to arrive healthy and return home healthy after having a great time getting together with quilting friends.
