Calling all KHAS members who love wool applique. We hope you will join us for the 2022 Applique Retreat to be held March 11-13, 2022 at Blue Licks State Resort Park, 10299 Maysville Rd., Carlisle, KY. 40311.

Vicki McCarty of Calico Patch Designs will lead our class teaching her techniques for wool applique. Our project will be one of Vicki’s own wool designs, Gingerbread House block 1. While we will be focusing on block 1, there are 3 additional designs available to complete a 52” square wall hanging.

You won't want to miss this class!

“It’s All in the Details”

Issued by Diane Acosta

As I have looked at quilt designs through history, I have noticed that many use simple architectural elements/details – a rail fence, courthouse steps, log cabin – as their design.
Just like in the old days, I want you to get your inspiration from architectural elements/details found in and around you.   It may be from a floor tile, Victorian roof tile, wallpaper, an outside structure, the façade of a building, a doorway, or a stained-glass window.  I know that I see quilt patterns everywhere I visit!
