Kentucky Heritage Appliqué Society
The Kentucky Heritage Appliqué Society (KHAS) was formed in 1995 as an auxiliary of the Kentucky Heritage Quilt Society (KHQS). Membership in the Appliqué Society is limited to current or new members of KHQS. Membership dues to join KHAS are $5 per year in addition to the KHQS membership dues.
The group's purpose is to promote the techniques, appreciation and preservation of hand and machine appliqué in the art of quilt making.
The Appliqué Society holds its annual meeting immediately following the KHQS Getaway. In addition to the annual dinner, there are appliqué classes, show and tell, and other fun activities.
Membership in the KHAS includes
- Appliqué Society news, information, and opportunities in a dedicated section of the KHQS Newsletters
- Invitation to attend the annual Appliqué Society Retreat held summer at different locations throughout the state
- Annual members' meeting
- Eligibility to win monetary prizes for participating in KHQS’s Annual Show and the President’s “Challenge.”
